The OSP Supervisor – Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and management of metro and long-distance fibre optic infrastructure. This role ensures optimal performance of fibre networks while complying with telecom industry standards and safety regulations.
Supervise maintenance of FTTx and P2P fibre networks, including fibre termination using fusion splice machines.
Conduct testing and analysis of fibre links with OTDR, Light Source/Power Meters (LSPM), and identify fibre cores using VFLs.
Understand fibre network architectures, designs, and splice plans to support effective maintenance.
Maintain accurate and concise documentation of “As-Is” network status and splice configurations.
Oversee civil works, quality control, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
Process Right of Way (ROW) licenses with local authorities and regulatory agencies.
Utilize Microsoft Office tools, Microsoft Project, and optionally Visio, AutoCAD, or GIS tools for planning and reporting.
Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, team members, and local communities.
Analyze and resolve complex network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, with hands-on exposure to fibre network deployments and outside plant maintenance.
Strong knowledge of telecom best practices, norms, and technical requirements for fibre and civil work maintenance.
Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations in Nigeria.
Experience in civil works supervision and quality assurance.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to plan, document, and report network operations clearly and concisely.
FTTx and P2P fibre deployment and maintenance experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Visio, AutoCAD, or GIS tools.
Experience with ROW applications and liaising with Nigerian local authorities.
