The Logistics Manager will oversee the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all logistics operations supporting Layelle Africa’s real estate and construction projects. The role ensures seamless movement of building materials, equipment, and supplies to and from project sites while optimizing costs, maintaining vendor reliability, and upholding safety and regulatory standards.
Plan, coordinate, and manage the end-to-end transportation and delivery of construction materials, equipment, and supplies across multiple project sites.
Collaborate with procurement teams, project managers, and contractors to forecast logistics needs and align deliveries with construction schedules.
Oversee fleet operations, including scheduling, routing, preventive maintenance, and fuel utilization.
Ensure timely deliveries to project sites while driving cost control in transportation and storage.
Maintain up-to-date records of shipments, inventory movements, fleet utilization, and vendor agreements.
Build and sustain strong relationships with transport providers, suppliers, and contractors to guarantee service quality and accountability.
Enforce strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations in all logistics operations.
Track, analyze, and report on key logistics performance metrics such as on-time delivery rates, cost per trip, and vendor performance.
Prepare, monitor, and manage the logistics budget for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Lead, coach, and supervise logistics staff, including drivers and warehouse teams.
Deploy technology solutions to enhance real-time tracking, route optimization, and overall logistics visibility.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
5–7 years of proven experience in logistics management, ideally within real estate, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
Strong knowledge of construction supply chains, materials handling, and site delivery requirements.
Proficiency in logistics/fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced construction environments.
Commercial and financial acumen for cost efficiency and budget control.
High attention to detail, safety compliance, and process improvement.
