Welcome To EarthTab Business Business. My Name Is Ruth Zaza And I Will Be Your Course Preceptor For The Course, Cultural Heritage And Destination Management. Cultural heritage is one of humanity’s most valuable resources. It encompasses the inherited traditions, monuments, objects, folklore, languages, and knowledge systems of a people. In an era of globalization, migration, urbanization, and rapid environmental change, the preservation and sustainable management of cultural heritage has become not only a cultural imperative but an economic opportunity particularly through tourism. This course, Cultural Heritage and Destination Management, explores the critical intersection between the preservation of heritage and the planning, development, and governance of tourism destinations. It examines how tangible (built, natural, and archaeological) and intangible (oral traditions, rituals, performing arts) cultural assets can be identified, protected, interpreted, and leveraged responsibly for tourism. It also investigates how destination managers can strike a balance between commercialization, cultural integrity, community development, and environmental stewardship. In a global landscape where cultural tourism accounts for over 40% of international travel, there is an urgent need for professionals trained in both cultural heritage principles and destination management strategies. From World Heritage Sites to community-based ecotourism, from museums and digital storytelling to religious pilgrimages and cultural festivals, this course covers the full spectrum of heritage tourism.
